Brief
From the start, the challenge was clear: build an institutional identity capable of holding art, design, curation, and critical discourse, all at once. Central America has always had a visual voice of its own. What it didn't have was a platform at its level. Designing CARA was exactly that opportunity: to build from within, from the colors of the region, from its natural maximalism, from a context that deserved an identity as bold as what it was housing.

Solution
We developed the name CARA as an acronym that carries its own manifesto: Centroamérica Red de Arte. A word that in Spanish means identity, presence, and territory. The identity system was built on a bold typeface — heavy, present, and authoritative — because a platform that holds Central American art, design, and critical discourse cannot whisper. It has to declare. The color palette doesn't seek neutrality. It seeks contrast, tension, and immediate recognition across any physical or digital context.

Graphic System
The isotype is born from the word CARA itself: an inverted C that functions as a door, an arch, and a point of transition. A bridge between art and design disciplines, between the region and the world. The system doesn't compete with the works or the artists. It works as a structure that allows multiple voices to coexist under one platform, organizing, connecting, and framing the cultural ecosystem that Central America has always had, and now has a home for.
